I am proud to introduce myself as Headteacher of Kingsmeadow Comprehensive School.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, caring, disciplined and happy school that provides a safe and secure learning environment for all who learn and work here.  We are committed to developing the talents and expertise of each individual at Kingsmeadow and this is reflected in our pastoral care, academic support for students, and in our prestigious Investors in People status.

This is an exciting time for Kingsmeadow:

• GCSE/GNVQ examination results have risen, with 60% of students gaining 5 or more A*-C Grades in 2007.
• We were one of the top performing schools at KS4 in the country in 2007.  Students of all abilities made outstanding progress.
• We have designated specialist status in Business and Enterprise.  This status has enabled us to further develop the entrepreneurial and employability skills of our students.
• We have growing Post 16 provision, through the Central Gateshead Sixth Form (cg:6) in partnership with Gateshead College.
• Phase 2 of our new school opens in September 2008.  We have fantastic classrooms for the 21st century which are backed up with state-of-the-art technological resources.
• From September 2008 pupils will benefit from a £1.5 million ICT investment, through the Building Schools for the Future Programme.
• We are a Full Service Extended School with a developing range of community activities and very close links with our partner primary schools.
