JOB TITLE:          School Sports Coordinator

Required for January 2009 with 0.5 available from September 2008, a suitably qualified PE Specialist to lead the development of physical education and school sport across the two secondary schools and their cluster of primary schools.  The successful candidate will play an important role in the development of the partnership and will be responsible for; strategic planning, school liaison, out of school hours learning, school to community links, coaching and leadership and raising standards.

You will need to show a real commitment to ‘high quality’ curricular and out-of-hours learning, have knowledge of the PE National Curriculum, possess good organisation and administration skills and have the ability to communicate effectively.  In addition you will have a clear vision of how to improve the quality of teaching and learning in PE and school sport and understand how links with sporting partners can strengthen learning in and out of the school environment and increase levels of participation.

Gateshead has a thriving and well developed School Sports Partnership programme.  You will be supported by both schools and the Partnership Development Manager.
